Welcome to the home page of St. Joseph Orphanage Home!
The St. Joseph foundation program is based on the belief that orphaned children have the best opportunity for development within a family. Under normal circumstances, orphans in Africa are absorbed by their extended family. Today conditions are changing, largely because of the effects of the AIDS pandemic, and the family structure is being disrupted. St. Joseph foundation believes orphaned farm children are helped best by building on the strengths within the community, encouraging them to identify children and families in need, and working with the community to create solutions. In this way, children can remain with their siblings in an environment that is familiar and have the opportunity to learn about their culture first hand.
Many orphaned and abandoned children in the world have no one to look after them and must fend for themselves. These children can find a new home in an St. Joseph Orphanage Village, where they can experience security in the care of an St. Joseph Orphanage Home mother and the companionship of their village brothers and sisters.
The St. Joseph Orphanage Villages, through the support of sponsors, provide the children with long-term, locally rooted care, not only by giving them a home and family, but also through the establishment of educational, medical and social facilities which also assist and strengthen families from the neighboring communities (St. Joseph Orphanage Kindergartens, Schools, Medical Centers, and Social Centers, among others).
This means that children and youths from both the St. Joseph Orphanage Village and the surrounding area benefit directly from your contribution.
